Smudgie

There is no end to the neglect, cruelty and suffering. There is no "light at the end of the tunnel". There is no "better future". There is no "Change".
Smudgie is testament to all the above.

This poor older boy arrived into our care 3 days before Christmas, completely matted, so much so, that he could barely walk and he was emaciated underneath it all. His matts were caked in his own faeces and urine. One eye, the bit that's left in the socket, was badly damaged.

After a few days and once groomed Smudgie, as we named him, seemed to understand that he had been given another go at life. Our dedicated kennel team quickly showed him that he was now in a safe place, a good place filled with kindness and love and a different Smudgie started to emerge.
A Smudgie who loved to play, who loved cuddles, kisses and walks. At 10.5 years old Smudgie was finding his inner pup and we loved every minute of it. Then Smudgie was offered a foster home with one of our volunteers, Tara, and Smudgie threw himself into his new adventure with joy and happiness. He is just the sweetest, kindest boy who is so grateful for his rescue from his years of suffering. He walks well on the lead, loves a spin in the car, is clean in the house and struts proudly in his new jacket on his daily walks. He also loves his ball.

Smudgie gets on well with other dogs and so could live with another kind, gentle dog or would be as equally happy as an only dog as long as he has lots of human company.
He has met children aged 10 + and been gentle with them.
In fact he loves everyone.

Smudgie loves being around people so we are looking for a home where he will have someone at home through the day with people who are willing to make Smudgie a part of their family, the apple of their eye, their world.
Because we think you will all agree Smudgie deserves it all and more.

If you feel you can offer Smudgie a 5* home where he will live a life of luxury then please complete an online adoption form.

Smudgie will be neutered in the coming weeks and undergo surgery to remove what is left of his untreated eye.
