Queenie

2.5 weeks ago we were contacted by concerned members of the public about a Mum and the pups they had just found when they followed mum, who had been left behind when her owners had moved on. She had kept her pups hidden away in the shed of her old home, desperate to keep them safe.

Mum Queenie is the sweetest, kindest, gentlest girl but one who had always lived by her own rules, free to do as she pleased, free to wander the streets, sleep on the footpaths and find food from kind people so it hasn't been easy for her to now find herself restricted.

But oh is she enjoying the comforts of soft beds, heat, good food and cuddles. All the things she should have had all her life but was denied up until now.

Queenie is now looking for a home. A quiet home where she can adjust to being in a home with attention while learning all about being a much loved pet. She is just so calm, so quiet and so gentle we sometimes have to remind ourselves she is there.

A home without too much going on so she can chill and relax in those early days. Someone at home throughout the day would be ideal. She is sociable with other dogs but would probably be happier to be an only dog.

She loves a walk but is also more than happy to just chill. If ever there was a girl who deserved to be pampered then its Queenie. She just needs to be shown love and made to feel safe. She cannot be spayed at the moment until her milk drys up and her tired body is given time to recharge.

Can you be the one to change her life?
A fully secure garden is required for Queenie.

Despite having no space our kennel team responded straight away, driving whilst juggling kennels in their heads. These 5/6 week old puppies were terrified. We were, without a doubt, the first human contact they had ever had. On arrival at our sanctuary they hid behind Mum, hid in corners anytime they heard our voices approach.

Her puppies are doing so much better, Bunratty (Male), Slane (Male), Cashel (Female) and Cahir (Female). They are still, at times, shy and unsure but with time and patience are becoming more trusting.
