Igbo

This little pup came into our care on a Saturday evening and went into emergency foster. She met our vet, was checked over, chipped and started her vaccinations. Igbo is approximately 3 months old and we believe is a Patterdale Terrier x. Some may say that Patterdales are not for the faint hearted but they really are amazing dogs with big hearts and character and this little girl is young and ready to learn new things.

Patterdales are an active, loyal, loving, affectionate and intelligent breed but can be stubborn, independent and have hunting traits (like many terrier breeds). Igbo is already a ball of energy, racing around her foster home until she is tired, then flops down for a sleep for a couple of hours before she is off again, all par for course in a pup this young.

She needs a home where there is someone at home all day and she would love a home with another small breed dog that she can interact and play with (she had a great time at our sanctuary playing with another small terrier). She is best suited to older children as she can be a little nippy and bitey as she goes through her puppy stages of teething and chewing. Igbo is travelling well in the car considering it is new to her. She is not toilet trained and has yet to be lead/harnessed trained.

It is important that Igbo finds a home willing to train and socialise her and a home that has a love of the outdoors as Patterdales love being out and about on adventures hiking but also happy to end the night snuggled up to their family. A fully secure garden is a must.
