Gozo

It is hard to believe that gentle, sweet natured Gozo is still with us. Gozo was born in our sanctuary on June 30th along with his 8 siblings to their young mum Inis, who we rescued off the streets just before she gave birth. Now 5 months old, Gozo is still waiting. Mum Inis was a collie x springer while Dads breed is unknown. We feel that Gozo will be medium sized once fully grown but of a slight build.
Gozo is just the sweetest, kindest boy you could meet. He absolutely loves his cuddles and always looks to us for reassurance if he is ever in doubt, some may say he is a little bit "sensitive" but it is just so endearing.
Gozo would love a home where he could have lots of human company throughout the day as he is just so happy when he knows someone is around. He is kind and submissive when meeting all other dogs and desperately wants them to like him, he is a pleaser that's for sure.
He had his first visit into our local town this week and he did so well passing a few cars, bikes, people etc and even got to have an off lead play with an ex GalwaySPCA doggie in the castle grounds as Gozo never goes very far from the humans he is with.
We see no reason why Gozo cannot live with respectful children, pending a meet and greet, and though he has never seen a cat, we feel that with careful introductions to a dog savvy cat, that it could work. He really is an absolute pleasure and just wants to be loved.

Gozo is one of our nine Island babies without his forever home. Now 15 weeks old Gozo's Mom was a Sprollie, his dad unknown. He is a beautiful, sweet-natured, well socialised pup who happily walks on a harness. He is a confident, outgoing pup who loves human interaction.
A month ago Gozo became very ill and had to spend 9 days at our vets fighting for his life. He has since made a full recovery and has no lasting health issues, though he did lose a lot of weight but he is slowly putting it back on.
*Gozo needs a home where there is someone at home all day due to his young age.
*We see no reason why he cannot live with another dog pending a meet and greet.
*We see no reason why he couldn't learn to live with a dog savvy, confident cat once introductions are done properly (that means asking your cats permission first)
*Respectful children would also be ok though please remember that pups can be nippy in play and so he may be too much for very small children
*A fully secure garden and humans willing to put in some ground work as he has not seen much of the outside world and he will need exercise and stimulation as he grows.
Whilst mum Inis was a smallish Collie x Spaniel we have no idea of Dads breed but we expect him to be medium size when fully grown. He deserves to find his own family just like his siblings.
If you are at home full time and are looking for a fun, happy, playful friend to share your home and lifestyle with please consider applying for Gozo.
