Skellig
Skellig, one of 9 babies born at our sanctuary on June 30th this year is now 5.5 months old and we cant believe he is still waiting for his forever home. Affectionately nicknamed Sid the Sloth by our kennel team, Skellig is a lovely boy who is confident, affectionate and full of love, having been reared here at our sanctuary. Mum, Inis, was a Collie x Springer but dad was unknown but we believe Skellig will be collie sized once fully grown.
He is a typical pup who is full of fun, bounce, mischief and lovable traits.
He currently lives with his brother Gozo, but Gozo may be off to his forever home this weekend and it is going to break our hearts if Skellig is left alone and confused for too long.
Skellig gets on well with other dogs though he can be a bit bouncy in play but its all in good humour. He walks on his harness and loves getting out and about on walks. He would love a home with humans who love getting out and about. He needs a home where there is someone at home for most of the day due to his young age and can live with or without another dog. We see no reason why Skellig cannot live with respectful children and, while he has not be cat tested, he could maybe live with a dog savvy cat pending controlled introductions.
Please help get Skellig a home. He truly is a lovely boy who is going to bring a lot of joy and love to a home.
****
Skellig is hoping a fresh update will open new doors for him. Born on June 30th at our sanctuary to mum Inis (litter of 9), Skellig has watched seven of his siblings head off to their forever homes. Now its him and, his brother, Gozo left.
Skellig is a confident, outgoing boy and always was, even as a very young puppy. Now 5 months old he is blossoming into a super boy who loves getting out and about and did really well on his first trip into our local marina.
More daring than his brother Gozo, Skellig is always up for a new adventure. He loves the company of other dogs and gets stuck into play with them straight away. A boy who was born into love at our sanctuary knows all about cuddles and kisses on the sofa.
Skellig would love an active home where he will have human company for the day, due to his young age, as he still needs training and socialising which he loves. We see no reason why Skellig cannot live with respectful children, pending a meet and greet. Mum Inis was a collie x Spaniel while Dad was unknown so we believe Skellig will be a medium sized dog once fully grown.
Skellig, like Gozo and the rest of their siblings, is a total sweetheart with a super personality.

**SEPT 2025**
Skellig is one of our nine Island babies without his forever home. Now 15 weeks old Skelligs Mom was a Sprollie, his dad unknown. He is a beautiful, sweet-natured, well socialised pup who happily walks on a harness. He is a confident, outgoing pup who loves human interaction.
*Skellig needs a home where there is someone at home all day due to his young age.
*We see no reason why he cannot live with another dog pending a meet and greet.
*We see no reason why he couldn't learn to live with a dog savvy, confident cat once introductions are done properly (that means asking your cats permission first)
*Respectful children would also be ok though please remember that pups can be nippy in play and so he may be too much for very small children
*A fully secure garden and humans willing to put in some ground work as he has not seen much of the outside world and he will need exercise and stimulation as he grows.
Whilst mum Inis was a smallish Collie x Spaniel we have no idea of Dads breed but we expect him to be medium size when fully grown. He deserves to find his own family just like his siblings.
If you are at home full time and are looking for a fun, happy, playful friend to share your home and lifestyle with please consider applying for Skellig.
