Frye

Frye arrived into our care in early February after he was found wandering the streets alone, underweight and terrified. He is the sweetest of boys but it was clear that he hadn't had the best start in life at the hand of humans so we set about teaching him that he could trust us. And Frye listened. He became affectionate, playful and started to love his time out on our fields. He makes friends easily with other dogs and enjoys their company.
A couple of weeks ago we had the idea of doing something new with some of our dogs to try and relieve them of kennel stress. We took up Canicross running thanks to the idea from one of our team who now lives in the UK and does it with her ex Galway SPCA doggie. We had an idea that Frye might enjoy it so we gave him a go and he loved it. His new found confidence shone through.
We became members of Canicross Ireland and this coming Sunday 8th March we will be taking part in their weekend event in Co Meath with Frye and also with another of our dogs, Aquarius, the Lurcher who arrived into our care two weeks ago and who is also proving to be a natural at it. For Frye this has been such a game changer. He absolutely loves it and his confidence shines through. A special mention to our two staff members Alannah and James who have offered up their legs to take part.
Frye is actively looking for his forever home. He is simply the kindest, sweetest, most affectionate and easy going boy who is approximately 12/14 months old. He would love a home with a love of the outdoors and adventures and if you are a runner then that's an extra bonus. Frye is just as happy to chill out too with his humans.
Frye would be the ideal second dog in a home or he could live as an only dog too if he had human company for most of the day. We see no reason why Frye cannot live with respectful children pending a meet and greet.
In compliance with DAFM legislation, the GalwaySPCA unique certificate number is GPT200022C.
