Maldi
We received a call for help with a little dog about 6 weeks ago. We were told she had been straying in Galway but we actually believe she had been bought and then the people realised just how terrified she was. Thankfully, we had an experienced foster home willing to take her in for a few days (silly Tara 🤣) as 6 weeks on Maldi is still with Tara.
Whatever caused Maldi to be so traumatised of people, the world and life in general we will never know but this 6.5/7 month old baby was and still is very nervous though she has come on well, just slowly.
We need to find Maldi her forever home and foster mum Tara says this:-
Maldi is a very sweet but timid little girl. Saying that she is also quite independent and knows what she likes, doesn't like or is fearful of. She will definitely need another confident, happy, cheerful dog in the home that can be her friend and show her that the world is not such a scary place.
Maldi can live with cats and has met and been around other small furries, such as guinea pigs, rabbits and birds.
She is clean in the house.
Maldi is very nervous about getting into and travelling in a car.
She does, however, love adventures at the beach, the woods and quiet places. Her work on a lead and harness is still work in progress but she is learning.
Maldi is, at times, an independent, aloof little girl who watches the home goings on from her favourite chair and has only very recently come voluntarily for an ear scratch from her foster mum but is happy to sit and oversee instead.
Maldi is looking for a home on the quieter side without young children. Someone at home most the day though she can spend a few hours alone with the other dog. A more rural setting would be best so Maldi can continue learning all about the world at her pace, where she can continue to learn to trust and enjoy her next chapter in her journey.
It may seem that Maldi is a lot of work but she is honestly a chilled and easy going girl but one who needs some extra time, patience and routine before she fully blossoms into the beautiful flower we know she can be.
Can you be the one to give Maldi her chance?
