** Sept 17th**
It has been 18 days since Taurus was found lying on a footpath of a housing estate in Ballinasloe, dejected, scared and alone. But now those days are far behind him and what was once seen as one persons "rubbish" is now our "treasure" and some day soon Taurus will become "somebodies world".

For now Taurus is simply enjoying life as a Rescue Dog and for Rescue Dogs at GalwaySPCA that means being given the chance to embrace new and wonderful things. Not just unconditional love and sofa cuddles or walks and off lead runs but learning and showing natural talents too. Today we learned that Taurus has a natural ability for agility and he absolutely loves it.

We hope you enjoy the video and appreciate the wonder of a rescue dog once they are given a chance to show what lies within those big, beautiful hearts of theirs. Of course, in true lurcher style. it was back to bed for a well earned snooze for Taurus after it all.

**SEPT 7th**
This beautiful boy caused a stir last week when we posted about how he was found lying on the footpaths and his subsequent arrival into our care. It's always comforting and uplifting to see and read so many comments filled with love and empathy and we truly appreciate each and every one. So, we thought we would bring a little update on how Taurus is doing just one week on. Cause we know you all want to know.

Taurus is doing so so well. He has now been neutered, his skin is clearing up nicely and, at the weekend, he enjoyed a little trip to the local Coffee shop. You must think eating buns and drinking coffee is all we do, but its not for that reason that we do those things (honestly!). It is a very important part of our assessment to get the dogs out of kennels and into a quiet area of our local town so we can assess how they behave out in the general public with traffic, people, other dogs and the outside world, in general.

For many of our dogs this can often be the first time they have stepped into the world outside of back yards, sheds, trailers and bogs they have only ever previously known. As you can see Taurus took it all in his stride and it looks like he even learned how to use those "begging eyes" whilst at the Cafe and they did work!! Supported by his Lurcher friend Nya (many of you will remember her horrific arrival to us 5/6 weeks ago), Taurus had a lovely time out and about exploring.

We really hope that he has now put his past behind him and realises that there is only good fortune and lots of love to come.

**SEPT 2nd**
Last Sunday morning our kennel manager received a call from a concerned member of the public who had come across a Lurcher, lying on the path at the back of a housing estate in Ballinasloe. At first, it seemed like he was unable to stand or move but with some gentle coaxing they managed to get him as far as their garden and then called us.

Despite being in the middle of our morning kennel routine, our kennel manager went straight out wondering if this dog was injured or just exhausted. What greeted her was a somewhat sad and dejected boy and apart from the mange on his skin, the usual covering of fleas, he was uninjured and hopped happily onto her van.

Taurus, as we have named him, is yet another lurcher in a very long line and intake of Lurchers that seem to be yet another John/Jane Doe.
No chips
No collars
No calls
And definitely No Accountability.
They just keep on coming.

Taurus has now been treated for his mange/fleas/worms and seems so very grateful for his warm, cosy bed, his walks around our fields and the attention and love he is now receiving from our kennel team. He is the sweetest boy, calm, gentle and well behaved.

He will be neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and will continue to be assessed before, hopefully, finding himself a new and loving home.

Our thanks to the person who didn't walk past this boy and who all they could to ensure he was rescued from the streets so he can have a brighter future.
