Owl came into our care a few months ago with her tiny babies, after circumstances left her without a home of her own. Her owner could no longer keep her and had placed Owl and her brother with a family member who was really only in a position to take one cat in a tiny one bed apartment. For Owl, already trying to protect and care for her babies, the change of environment and confinement was incredibly stressful, she was nervous, frightened and desperately trying to cope. Thankfully, we were able to take Owl because a foster home was offered. Through a real team effort, one of our volunteers collected Owl and her babies and brought them to the cattery, where they were then collected and taken to their wonderful foster home.

Owl was incredibly skinny and struggled to gain weight. Her foster family patiently persevered, supporting her while she continued to give so much of herself to her babies. Even when she was struggling, her kittens always came first. In July, Owl and her babies returned to the cattery.

Thankfully, this time she coped with the move much better and, after a few days, we were delighted to see her finally beginning to gain some weight. We made Owl a promise that her next move would be her last as it would be to her forever home. And now we need your help to make that promise come true!

Owl can be a little timid when she first meets you, but underneath that initial shyness is the sweetest, most loving girl. She needs someone who understands that trust takes time and who will give her the chance to settle at her own pace. We see no reason why Owl couldn't live with respectful children. She could be an only pet or potentially live with another easy going cat or a calm dog. She would also be perfectly happy as an indoor cat or, once she has properly bonded with her family and had plenty of time to settle, with safe outdoor access.

Owl has already had enough changes, enough new places, enough uncertainty and enough wondering where she belongs. Now she needs someone to show her that she finally belongs. Someone who will give her the safety and security she has been missing, the patience to let her come out of her shell and the love she deserves. We don't want Owl's next move to be another temporary stop we want it to be home.
