Hitch

A forever home needed for this amazing boy. He was abandoned on a forest lane, scared and emaciated but Hitch has become unrecognisable since finding himself the most amazing foster home with Paul and Keisha. A lurcher x Malinois, approximately 14 months old, Hitch brings the best of both those breeds to his character. Since going into foster Paul and Keisha have been working and training with Hitch to keep his Mali side stimulated and responsive and Hitch has responded with a love of learning new things and exploring new training methods and adventures. He is exceptionally intelligent due to his Malinois genes, sorry lurchers, and absolutely loves learning.

Hitch loves his weekend trips to the local cafe and will sit quietly as his foster parents enjoy their coffees. He has been hiking and wild camping which he loved and has taken up swimming (thanks to his springer friend). Heel work, fetch and basic commands are done every day in order to keep Hitch’s active brain busy and he continues to learn more difficult commands. Paul and Keisha say Hitch is now ready for his forever home (they would like to continue to help rescue dogs by re-fostering) .

A home with humans who have the interest, time, patience and passion for a dog like Hitch, so ideally someone interested in training work, mantrailing, obedience, search and rescue etc…all fun things you can do with your best friend. Hitch is not a boy who will be happy with a trot around the block twice a day, he wants and needs to “have a job”.

A home without young children as Hitch can still be puppyish. Hitch ignores cats on his walks but a home without cats is required. Hitch is very sociable with other dogs but is equally happy on his own. He is toilet trained, lead trained (on and off but only off once ground work has built a rapport), sleeps in his crate all night and travels well in the car.
He is the perfect dog for humans with the same zest for learning, training, adventures, fun and cuddles.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Paul and Keisha for all their amazing work with Hitch they made sure, before fostering, that they could give Hitch the foster home and input he needed and loves.
