Definitely one for Santa’s nice list, our sweet and gentle Woods has been through so much and yet he still has so much love to give. After such a traumatic start to life in our care and the long weeks spent recovering, it is completely understandable that Woods can be a little cautious when meeting new people. Despite this, once he feels safe, he shows just how affectionate, loving, and wonderful he truly is.

We have carefully reviewed and updated Woods’ homing criteria. While we firmly believe that two kittens are often better than one, we also recognise that every animal is an individual. Woods has shown us that he would be happiest as an only cat, where he can enjoy all the love and attention to himself.

Woods is looking for a dog-free home. Following his attack, he is very uncomfortable around dogs and deserves an environment where he can feel secure and relaxed! He absolutely adores humans of all ages, though any children in the home would need to be respectful and patient allowing him the time he needs to settle and build trust.

Woods realises a home for Christmas is too much to ask for, but Santa will find him wherever he is!
But he is hoping that the New Year will finally bring him the loving, forever home he so truly deserves.

**NOVEMBER

Woods came into our care 4 weeks ago after he was found the night before, all alone near NUIG, and he had sustained several bite wounds over his body. He was in incredibly poor condition overall and he was suffering from malnutrition and parasites. He also wasn't the most open to being handled but, to be honest, given what he had gone through we were not surprised. His recovery has been a very rocky one and his mental scars are, unfortunately, taking longer than the physical ones.

But day by day we see a difference. A boy who loves to be loved (just don't grab him). A boy who wants to be near you, but is not quite ready to sit on your lap. He is a sweet, playful and loving boy, none the less.

Woods is looking for a patient and understanding home that will allow him time to settle before asking for him to fully trust. A dog free home with, possibly, an older quieter cat to help build his confidence. Woods is the kind of cat that won't trust everyone but will give everything to those that earn it!
