Odyssey
From a terrified, skinny, disheveled little girl to a calm, confident (once she settles 😉) and affectionate lady
Odyssey’s journey has been long and turbulent and that’s only the part we know about. We don’t know her exact age. We don’t know why she came from the UK to Galway. We don’t know why the people who brought her here never reached out to claim or come back for her. But what is certain is this that Odyssey’s future is bright and we hope that her next move will be to a loving forever home.
Odyssey is a simple, gentle soul. She enjoys quietly watching the world go by but is also perfectly happy entertaining herself. She is looking for a patient home that will give her time to settle, feel safe and continue building her confidence. She does have a food intolerance, that caused tummy issues in the past, but this is now fully managed with a RAW diet as long as she sticks to her assigned food, she thrives! The food comes in sealed portions, can be frozen and defrosted easily and costs no more than good-quality cat food.
Odyssey’s ideal home:
Indoor-only (a catio would be an amazing bonus!)
Best as an only cat due to her dietary needs, unless other cats are also on RAW.
A dog free home as she is not a fan of dogs but could potentially live with a very quiet, cat-savvy one.
A calm, patient household willing to let her settle at her own pace.
Odyssey has come so far she just needs someone to give her the safe, loving home she deserves.

**October 2025**
This beautiful lady has been in our care for 3 weeks and despite being posted on our Facebook page and our Lost and Found page we've not had any contact from anyone looking for her.
Odyssey is microchipped, but her details are not registered in Ireland, in fact she is registered in the UK. Due to regulations, we are not allowed the information of her registered owners and our attempts to reach the registered owners on the chip via the microchip company go unanswered.
So, how did she get here and why did she spend a week sitting alone in a garden before being taken in by a kind lady, to whom we are so grateful as she kept her safe while we juggled space. How did she become so emaciated (it took longer than a week to get to the state she was in!!) and why is she continuing to struggle with stomach and digestion issues. Are they because of medical issues? If so, so far tests show nothing. If it's the stress and trauma that she has experienced before arriving here, we don't know and we may never know.
What we do know is that her future is much brighter and we will do everything we can to make sure she gets the very best. Foster to adopt is not something we do as standard for our cats and kittens, but in Odysseys case, we feel that the cattery environment is holding her back in her recovery.
Odyssey has come on so well in the past 3 weeks and we are hopeful that once she is in the right environment, the majority of the current issues will settle and she can begin to thrive. We always just want what is right for our animals, so we are going to look for a very very special home for her.
A home that is willing to take on Odyssey as she is!
A home willing to continue to work with us and our vets in Briarhill.
A home that will continue with Odysseys treatment and her special diet, which we will cover the cost of while we rule out anything more sinister
We are looking for a low stress home without small children and other animals
Ideally a home with someone home a lot of the day that can offer her the company and attention she craves!
We know we are asking a lot and we know that we are looking for one in a billion!
But, we also know that Odyssey deserves the very best that we can find and we owe it to her to find it! If you think you can offer her the home she deserves, please complete the application form.
Odyssey is such a loving and sweet girl, we know she will make the most amazing companion. She just needs a chance.
