Yen arrived into our care after he was surrendered into a pound with his brother Yuan, rehomed 4 weeks ago, at only 6 months old. Two amazing pups but they had zero training or handling so we had to press the "restart" button and put in the work.
We had some lovely applications for Yen but we just felt that something was missing and when we saw the application arrive in from the Torpey family we got that gut feeling that this was it!!
The only problem we could see that might be an issue was that their fencing was not adequate enough but after a chat with Dad and a promise that he would do all he could to improve it, we definitely knew we had found the perfect family for Yen.
And fix it this man did !!
Starting early in the morning and working till late at night over 2 days, Darren put up a whole new fence inside his hedges that stretched the whole way around their garden and it was so heartwarming to know of effort he was putting in to ensure he passed the homecheck. Yen would be able to enjoy his new garden and be kept safe, so a big thank you for that !!
A meet and greet was arranged, as per our adoption process, with a close eye being kept on how Yen interacted with the children and also on how the children interacted with Yen and it was just beautiful to see on both sides.
Yen, now renamed Max, has been living with his new family for just a week and we hear that he has settled in amazingly well. He is loving being part of a family and is lucky enough to now be living in the shadows of the beautiful mountain Benbulben where he has been enjoying exploring. We cannot thank the Torpey family enough for the immense effort they put in to ensure that they could adopt one of our doggies, proving their commitment and love. We wish you all many happy adventures together and we hope to see Max standing tall and proud at the top of Benbulben one day soon.
