Tawny, now Millie

Nothing warms the heart of animal lovers more than a post showing a rescue dog receiving its second chance in a life that hasn't previously been very kind. Tawny is one of those dogs.  She was found straying on the streets, underweight, with overgrown nails, fleas and worms and was very kindly picked up by a member of the public who took her home and kept her safe until we could make room for her.

Tawny arrived and what an absolute sweetheart she was though we could see in her eyes and body language that life had not been gentle to her. But, like so many others, Tawny bounced back, under the care of our kennel team, and became a firm favourite with everyone who met her.

When Colette applied to adopt, after losing her previous dog, it was for another of our dogs but during the meet and greet we could see it may not be exactly what both Colette and ourselves were looking for. And that's OK as it has to be right for all concerned.

So we introduced Colette and Tawny and from the minute they met we could see the connection on both sides. This was what we were looking for.

It has been a couple of weeks since Tawny headed off home with Colette and we have had lots of wonderful updates. Colette and Tawny, now Millie, are enjoying life together as only two best friends can.

Thank you Colette for choosing to adopt.
