Sampras

In May we assisted with the removal of 5 dogs from horrendous living conditions. On the day 3 came to our sanctuary, while 2 headed to the County Pound with our promise that we would be back for them. It took 6 weeks to keep our promise but we did and Sampras and Seles (2 beagle x ) finally arrived.

They were two dogs who had clearly never known human affection nor how to walk on a lead and interact socially and so our kennel team set to work on teaching all the things they would need to know to become "loved pets" in a world that they had never experienced. It doesn;t happen overnight and it's a side to rescue that maybe we don't highlight enough but we kept trying and seeing our hard work start to pay off kept us going.

A few weeks ago we were rewarded in the best possible way. We posted Sampras for rehoming and he only received two applications but sometimes its not about the amount, it's about "the perfect match". As soon as we read one of them, we knew that this was the home Sampras had been waiting his whole life for.

Mark and Claireann had lost their beloved dog Molly and missed the companionship and love of having a dog in their lives. They were now ready to give another a fresh start.
It has been a few weeks since we waved goodbye to Sampras as he headed off proud as anything, that he had been chosen and we hear that he has settled in so, so well. He is loving his walks along the beach and woods, has made new doggy friends, found the sofa and, best of all, he has a new Mum and Dad all of his own. Things this sweet, gentle boy could only possibly ever dreamt of during his past existence.
We are so very grateful to Mark and Claireann for seeing the kindness and the love that we knew Sampras held inside him as he waiting for those special humans to come along so he could shower them with both.
We wish you all many happy years of fun and adventures together.
