It's another heartwarming ending for a little dog who won over all our hearts during his stay with us. Rattles was found wandering the roads not far from our sanctuary with another little pup. Thankfully, both were seen, saved and brought straight to our sanctuary and, as luck would have it, that day we happened to have had a dog go to its home leaving us with an empty kennel.
Rattles and Shakes settled in and it wasn't long before little Shakes was snapped up by a family. Rattles had to wait that little bit longer but he packed so much into those weeks, visiting schools as our mascot, helping more nervous dogs on their walks around the town and just enjoying playing with his friends on our fields.
When we saw an "open application" come in from the Croke family, after their search for a small dog began when they lost their previous doggie, we immediately thought of Rattles as their match. They had time, love, also no cats and knew just what terriers could be like with their cheeky attitudes.
Rattles played a blinder at his meet and greet with them, greeting them all like his best friends and making sure it was impossible not to fall in love with him. And it worked.
We hear that Rattles, now renamed Ringo, is settling in nicely. His usual brave exterior took a little bit of a dent as he adjusted to living within a home environment but, with guidance and love, he soon started to realise that this was his now forever home.
He has made friends with everyone he meets, chats to the neighbouring cows, partakes in work zoom calls and has even enjoyed trips to the beach.
We are, as always, forever grateful to families like the Crokes for always choosing to adopt a rescue dog, giving them the much needed second chance they need.
We wish you all many wonderful adventures together.
