Oshawa, now Milly

Oshawa, our beautiful Pointer girl, is sadly just one more statistic among Ireland's abandoned dogs. Found wandering the streets alone, she eventually sought refuge in a kind stranger's garden. Thankfully, they contacted our Kennel Manager who was able to say "yes" due to a dog having been adopted the day before, which freed up a kennel.
When Oshawa arrived she was frightened, nervous, underweight, and deeply confused. Most of all, her spirit seemed broken. It was heartbreaking to see such a young dog carrying so much uncertainty. Over the following weeks, however, Oshawa began to transform. With patience, care, and love, she blossomed into the most wonderful girl.
She adored the freedom of our fields, where she could run, play and simply be a dog again. Despite her adventurous side, she was equally happy curled up beside her favourite people, soaking up every cuddle she could get.
Finding the right home for each of our dogs is incredibly important to us. We knew Oshawa needed a family that could offer her the perfect balance: an active lifestyle filled with adventure, alongside plenty of affection and cosy evenings on the sofa.
That perfect match came in the form of Molly and Gareth. Passionate outdoor enthusiasts, they love hiking, long walks and sports such as paddleboarding and Oshawa also likes the water. At the same time, they were searching for a companion to share quiet moments, cuddles and a place beside them on the couch. From the moment they met Oshawa it was clear she had found exactly where she belonged.
Oshawa, now Milly, will now enjoy the very best of both worlds — days filled with adventure and evenings filled with love. After such a difficult start in life, Oshawa has finally found the happy ending she always deserved. Thanks to Molly and Gareth for believing in second chances and for being there to give Oshawa/Milly hers.
