Olive and Kalamanta

Olive and Kalamanta arrived into our care after Olive gave birth in an unsuitable location. Olive was a fantastic mum once she felt safe and secure and she did an absolutely amazing job of raising her little girl!
A lot of the comments in the beginning were very pro keeping mum and baby together and we even got some applications for them both! But, as with all our animals, we always want to do what is best for both so we watched and we waited to see how Olive felt about it. In the past few weeks it became clear that Olives patience was running thin. She continued to be a good mum, but her spark for everything else was dulling and we knew the look. Olive had "done her job" and wanted out!
So we reached out to Paula, who had recently lost one of her cherished kitties, and she happened to mention that she felt it was time to open her heart to a new addition. With the other animals in the home used to foster kittens coming and going, we felt it was time for Kalamanta to learn what "homelife" was all about!

In true Kalamanta style, it took her just an hour to find her feet and then just a further hour to take over the entire house and bend the resident animals (and human) to her will!
Kalamanta will stay in foster with Paula until she is old enough to complete her vet work and be adopted (yes, most likely by Paula )
Thank you Paula.

Olive was spayed and we began getting to know the real Olive!
The real Olive who wasn't constantly watching to see that her baby was OK and wasn't always tired from being both mum and littermate to Kalamanta, and we began to put together our picture of Olives purrfect home.

A few months ago we received an application from Carmel. Everything was great, the  homecheck passed, but it didn't go to plan and between one thing and another, it just wasn't the right time. Then recently, just as we were writing Olives ready for adoption post,  we got a call! It was Carmel, it was finally the right time and she happened to be outside in our shop having a look around and we had just happened to have had an appointment cancellation. A quick chat and straight away we knew exactly who we wanted her to meet! The meeting went as well as it could and, just like that, a match was made.
Olive, now Mabel, has settled in to her new home like she has been there her whole life!
She loves her new mum and we think the feeling is very mutual!
A massive thank you to Carmel for opening her home to our wonderful deserving lady.
