Larkin

In March we rescued a very emaciated little Patterdale boy, from the streets of Loughrea, after a very kind passerby found him running through traffic. He had mange, fleas and had clearly lived a neglected life before he escaped from it. But that didn't stop his tail from wagging or his lovable, affectionate nature from shining through.
We named him Larkin after the kind man who didn't ignore him that day on the streets. Despite being painfully thin, Larkin had that typical Patterdale energy and loved nothing more than racing around our fields or going off on long walks with our team.
When the McVann Family sent in their application looking for a family dog, and expressed their interest in Larkin, we arranged a meet and greet with the whole family. Patterdales are amazing little dogs but we often say they are not for the faint hearted and we wanted the McVanns to understand the breed and their characteristics. To be fair Larkin was one of the easiest Patterdales we have ever had the pleasure of loving and caring for but we felt that it was important they understood his genetics to be able to keep him fulfilled and happy.  We think its fair to say that Larkin fell in love with the McVanns that day as much as the McVanns fell in love with him and we couldn't have asked for a better first date!!
It has been a month since Larkin headed home and became the 6th member of the McVann household. A household that have given this little boy the greatest gift of his life. A safe and secure home with 5 amazing humans, from big to small, who love him to bits. He spends hours chilling on the sofa, gets day trips to the nearby beaches, playtime in the garden with the smaller humans and many, many cuddles to let him know just how much he is adored.
We are so grateful to Olivia, Michaell and family for opening up their hearts and home to make a rescue dog become a forever dog.
Here's to a lifetime of fun, adventures and cuddles from us to you all.
