In January a post went up on a closed Facebook group about a little dog who had been left behind in a garden after his “owners” moved on, leaving him behind. Thanks to his kind neighbours who fed him, gave him bedding and sought help. One of our long time fosterers Jayne saw the post and monitored it. As the day went on it became clear that rescues were just too full to help. So Jayne stepped up and organised to collect this little staffie boy who sat alone in his shed, waiting for someone to change his life. And change it did!
Once we heard about his story from Jayne, we offered to be his rescue back up and we watched as Dougie went from strength to strength under the care of Jayne and Paul. We also noticed that the photos we received seemed to be of Dougie with foster dad Paul and we could see the bond and love between them. So it really didn’t come as too much of a surprise, when we asked if Dougie was ready for rehoming, to hear the hesitation in Jaynes voice and the words that “I will chat with Paul, he’s very attached to him”.
Yep, you’ve guessed it! Dougie has now officially become a failed foster pup and will live forever loved and cherished with Jayne and Paul and the rest of their gang, though he will always be a “Daddys Boy”
Life changed that day for Dougie because people spoke out and became his voice
