Banner, now Biggie

Banner, now Biggie

Beautiful Banner, a young lurcher boy, was spotted running in fields near one of our volunteers homes. He was terrified, dirty, underweight and had no intention of trusting anyone. But, in true Galway Spca style, our volunteer didn't give up and eventually with patience and calmness, and many kilometres later, she had him. Thankfully we had a spare kennel.
No chip.
No collar.
No Accountability.
Once caught, he seemed to realise that he was now in the care of people who would love and care for him, Banner overnight became the sweetest, kindest, most affectionate of boys. He was duly neutered, chipped and vaccinated.
Then we had a lovely rehoming application in for one of our lurchers but he was already pre booked to travel later that week to the UK...but we had Banner!!
Karolina and her family arrived to the sanctuary full of hope and excitement that this was going to be a positive meet and greet (we already knew it was going to be perfect 🥰) and it was.
An hour later we were waving our goodbyes to Banner, now known as Biggie, and he has settled in amazingly to his new home with his new family and they are all totally smitten with the lurcher breed.
Thank you to our volunteer, our team, but most of all to Karolina and her family for allowing us to show them just what amazing pets and companions a lurcher can be.
