Trap Release and Return

TNR work is not always straightforward. Trap, Neuter and Return are just 3 steps in a multi step process and this girl is a perfect example of why it matters so much.  After several days of cleverly outsmarting our traps, this female cat was finally safely caught as part of our TNR programme.

It quickly became clear just how much she had been suffering. She had a severe growth on her back, foot and her mouth must have been causing her constant pain. Thankfully, the amazing team at Briarhill Veterinary Clinic was able to remove the benign growth and give her a full dental treatment along with all the basics. She then spent a week recovering in our cattery.

While rest and care were essential for her healing, it was obvious that confinement was not the life she wanted or needed and she was finally able to return to her territory, where she is happiest and most comfortable. Even better, a local family has kindly committed to keeping an eye on her and continuing to care for her, giving her the chance to live comfortably while still enjoying the independence that suits her best.

Stories like hers remind us that TNR is about more than population control. It is about relieving suffering, restoring health and giving each cat the best life possible on their own terms.
