We're looking to hire a part-time Kennel Assistant for our dog sanctuary in Killimor, County Galway. Please SHARE this post and TAG anyone who may be interested
The person we seek must be passionate about dogs and their care, be resilient and prepared to work in all weathers. A lot of the work is outdoors, which is obviously amazing on a warm summerβs day, but quite different in the winter and so any candidate must be prepared for this. You must be flexible re your working days too and a great team player β a good fit to our existing team is essential.
You will be involved with and play a central role in the care of the dogs: this will involve many aspects, from walking to cleaning out the kennels, helping with feeding, grooming, etc and socialisation. You will work with the Kennel Manager to help ensure the smooth running of the kennels.
Ideally, you will have previous experience of working with animals, preferably with dogs. An absolute bonus would be if the right candidate has any qualifications in this field, though not necessary. Training on all aspects of the job will be provided. Salary will be in line with industry standards.

- Needs to possess waterproofs and boots!
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Be able to be discrete and keep matters confidential
- Qualification in animal behaviour, etc a bonus but not necessary
- Knowledge of the charity sector would also be a bonus, but not necessary
- Own transport essential to be able to get to the sanctuary
