It is with heavy hearts that we bring you the sad news of Maisies passing. A little 15 year old girl who, over the last month, has won the hearts of so many. A little girl who lived a lifetime of abuse and neglect but who was finally rescued by the wonderful dog wardens at Offaly County Council Dog Shelter and, in turn, came straight to us.
We knew from day one that Maises time with us would be short as she was in the final stages of kidney failure and her little body was totally emaciated. But there was also a spark in her eyes and a little strut in her step and, while Maisie may only have had a short time with her foster mum Maddy, she passed knowing that she was loved and thankfully got to enjoy some home comforts, cooked meals, hugs, kisses and snuggles by the fire.
It takes a special kind of person to offer end of care life to an ailing animal and we are so proud and grateful to our Maddy for stepping up to ensure that Maisie wanted for nothing.
Also, our thanks to the amazing vet team at A Country Practice Vet Clinic who oversaw Maisies health plan.
Maisie slipped peacefully away at home in the arms of her foster mum. She will return to our sanctuary, Heathlawn, where she will be forever smiled upon and remembered.
Fly safe Maisie Moos and know you will be forever cherished in our hearts.
